U-20 AFCON: Flying Eagles drawn hosts Egypt, Senegal, Mozambique in Group A

 Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have been handed a tough draw for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.


Ladan Bosso’s side will face host country, Egypt, Senegal and Mozambique in Group A of the biennial competition.


Games in the group will be played at the Cairo International Stadium.



Finalists at the last edition of the competition the Young Cranes of Uganda, Central African Republic, South Sudan and Congo are the four teams in Group B.


The Group B teams will be based in Ismaila.


Group C consist of Gambia, Tunisia, Benin Republic and Zambia.


The coastal city of Alexandria will host games in the group.


The top two teams in the three groups will qualify to the quarter-finals, while the two third best losers will also advance.


The four semi-finalists will represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.


The competition will run from February 18 to March 12.
