ADAMAWA GOVERNMENT FLAGS OFF 2025 FARM INPUT SUPPORT FOR SEED ENTREPRENEURS

YOLA - The Adamawa State Government has officially flagged off the 2025 wet season farming input disbursement to Community-Based Seed Entrepreneurs (CBSEs) across the state.

The initiative, driven by the Adamawa State Agribusiness Support Programme (ADAS-P) in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and IITA, is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and supporting local farmers.

Speaking at the event, Commissioner for Agriculture Hon. David Jatau Finchiwa praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his commitment to agriculture and urged beneficiaries to make proper use of the foundation seeds provided.

ADAS-P COO, Alhaji Yunusa Gafai, revealed that arrangements are in place for partners like IITA and IsDB to buy produce directly from farmers to ease market access.

Representatives from IITA and IsDB commended the state’s proactive policies, while the Acting District Head of Yola North and other stakeholders appreciated the governor for empowering rural farmers.

Over 860 individuals and 43 cooperatives have already benefitted from quality seed training supported by ADASP and IITA.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support and pledged to apply the knowledge gained to improve their yields and livelihoods.
