TECHNOLOGY AND THE RISE OF VIOLENCE IN THE SOCIETY.

I vividly remember when Christians and Muslims celebrated Christmas and sallah the same day, I and my parents were in wukari Taraba state. That day we both Marched to the king's Palace to dance and celebrate. After we finished from the king's Palace, we visited each other house to eat and drink without segregation. BUT WHAT CHARGE OR WHO BRAIN WASHED US??

Then, suddenly, Video cassettes became popular with passonic television. We started visiting people houses to watch movies or stand in their windows because NEPA light was not popular only the rich that own a tortoise car have light. We started watching movies like COMMANDO, RAMBO and BRUCE LEE. first time we knew what is call gun. We all wanted to have strength like RAMBO, COMMANDO AND BRUCE LEE. Then, violence started. We practiced kunfu as we have watched Bruce Lee did and we went out to look for Children to beat, we became arrogance and feel unstoppable. We will gathered ourselves and go to another street just to go and fight the children there. These changes was not just happening to us but to Children everywhere because of the exposured to violence movies. At the same time, violence Rap songs from 2pac, Biggie, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg ETC where everywhere and 50 cent and Jarule came out with their own too. The situation worsen, rap cases and Robbery was the order of the day.

To make things more terrible, the Nigeria Movie industry NOLLYWOOD contributed a lot to the current violence and rebellion in this country  They came out with violence movies like ISAKABA, SENATOR, STATE OF EMERGENCY, LABISTA etc.  This affected most of the guys on campus because it showed The key Characters of the movie as cultist group in a university who have power and influence and can get any girl they wanted on the campus. It was the Genesis of Cultism in the university up till date, the industry were doing it just to entertain us but they were not aware they were building a weapon inside us. You could also remember the AKI and PAW PAW movie that made children so rebellion and stubborn to their parents at that time and the producer keep on producing it with different names. Our parents then, were ignorant of the dangers all these things will cause in the future. 

We never heard of anything like bomb blast in Nigeria but YouTube came out and people started uploading different kinds of Videos on it, including how to create a bomb and the bad people among us used to learn and then used the bombs on us. Technology has caused more harm to the world than any other thing. A boy in my compound was listing the name of guns and how they function to me; I was very shocked how he knew them. He told me, it was from games he used to play online, he can stay for hours playing games without eating food. If you give him a gun today, he can use it because he has learned from games.

Steve Jobs created iPhones but he doesn't allow his children to use it because he knows the implications. Mark Zuckerberg was asked whether he remembers the last person he chat with, he said he does not know. Movies make us see dying as normal thing, that anyone that makes you angry just take your gun and kill the person and nothing will happen to you. More movies and games will still come and violence will not stop. What we need is God's divine intervention.
