A man's finger is bit off by an 18-year-old for looking at his mother.


 

 Aliyu Adamu, 18, was remanded in custody on Monday by Jimeta Area Court II in Yola, Adamawa State, for biting off the finger of a 50-year-old man.

The area court, over which, After the defendant pleaded guilty to the three counts of offense that were brought against him, Hon. Muhammad Alamin Diya Lamurde remanded him.

Hon. Alamin, on the other hand, moved the case to January 3, 2023, for proof and a summary trial.

Prosecutor Corporal Ismail Mohammed brought Aliyu, a resident of Mairawani in Jambutu, Yola North LGA, to court on charges of criminal force, assault, and causing grievous harm.

The offenses for which the defendant had pleaded guilty were in violation of sections 240, 241, and 217 of the penal code, according to the prosecutor.

Cpl. Ismail requested that the case be postponed for confirmation and a summary trial following the defendant's guilty plea.


The court granted the request and ordered the defendant to remain in custody until then, adjourning the case as requested.

According to information obtained by NEWS PLATFORM, the defendant bit Yautai Adamu, 50, of the same address, who was allegedly looking at his 40-year-old mother.

On December 4, 2022, the man, who was 50 years old at the time, was on his way to work when he saw the defendant and his mother and looked at her.

The defendant questioned Yautai about the reason he was gazing at his mother when he turned around and saw it.


 The defendant began instigating his victim at this point, which led to a fight in which the defendant bit off his victim's finger.
