The people of Michika LGA led by community elders have unanimously declared Governor Fintiri as their preferred candidate ahead of the 2023 general elections saying it's a pay back time for what the Governor has done for them in the past three years.


In what looks like a Christmas present for the Governor as he took time to celebrate with the people of Michika, the people led by community elders, Women and Youths have made their position known by unanimously declaring Fintiri as their preferred candidate ahead of the 2023 elections.

The people made the solemn declaration in an occasion organized at Marwa Civic centre in Michika LGA at the instance of the Governor to rub minds and celebrate Christmas with the people in the area.


The former Adamawa State Deputy Governor  Barrister David Barau, who spoke on behalf of the elders revealed that their reasons is base on the development and special attention the Governor is paying to Michika LGA.


According to him the Governor has empowered their people through appointments, implemented many Infrastructural projects and programmes.


Improved their education, health facilities, security services and sorted out the contention issue of School of Health Technology in their favour.


"You have performed very well in a short time with lean resources which makes us happy and proud.


"In addition to the big thank you, therefore, we wish to promise and pledge hundred percent electoral support and solidarity for your continuity to 2027, by God's grace"




Earlier,  In his welcome address the Chairman of Michika LGA Hon. Amos Drambi, saluted the leadership style of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and said the people of the local council will not repeat mistakes they made before and assured of supporting PDP candidates come 2023.


Hon. Drambi stressed that the present administration under the watch of Governor Fintiri has provided all that is needed in the local council and commended him for the special attention he often gives to security which restored normalcy in the area.


Representatives of Women and Youths who spoke corroborated the words of the elders of the community pledging to give all the maximum support to the Governor, his running mate Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta and all the ruling party's candidates in the state in the forthcoming general elections.


They commended him for being sensitive in dealing with both genders and believe his second tenure will usher in a fresh idea and development that will move their LGA and the state to greater heights.


While interacting with the people Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was visibly elated with the show of love and support accorded to him by the people of Michika and congratulated them on the occasion of the Christmas festive season.


He acknowledged the cordial relationship between the people of Madagali and Michika LGAs and drew their attention saying that having suffered the brutal attack of insurgency in the past, they should close ranks and support each other pledging to give all necessary support in their healing process.


He also drew their attention to the forthcoming general elections calling on them to be weary of desperate politicians who have nothing to offer.


He cautioned that both communities have suffered enough to be loose and insensitive of who they vote for in the forthcoming elections to avoid mistakes of the past that rubbed them of right leadership in their constituencies and the state at large.


He thanked the elders, women, and youths for acknowledging his efforts in their community and promised to do more if reelected again.
