TOP 10 FOOTBALL MOMENTS IN 2022 - Amazing 😄

For the support you always show for us and the love of the game, We say Thank you and Happy New Year. Below are our top 10 football moment from 2022. Got something different? Let's hear you out in the comment box. Let's do this:

10.   BRAZIL'S DANCE IN THE WORLD CUP:

When we talk moments, we mean moments of joy, goose bumps, fun, pleasure in the game of Football. Brazil's dance against South Korea gave us a really unforgetable moment in 2022. They scored 4 goals in 30 minutes, danced 4 dance routines, including one with the Coach. It was a highlight in the World Cup. It may not be mentioned now because they fell to Croatia in the next match, but it was a beautiful moment.

9.  MOROCCO'S WORLD CUP HEROICS:

Oh dear, Morocco won our hearts in the World Cup. It wasn't as good in the end, but how do you make it to the World Cup semi-final without conceding a direct goal? only an own goal against Canada. They were badass, and on top of that, no African Country had ever made it pass the World Cup Quarter-final. It was history. The glory was that they won the likes of Belgium, Spain and Portugal in the process, teams in the top 10 FIFA ranking, thus becoming the first team not in the top 20 FIFA Ranking to make it to the World Cup Semi-final. It was a high in 2022 - unforgetable. Their heroic displaywas benefitted by the whole African continent.  As such, 11 slots are guaranteed for Africa in the next World Cup.

8.  REAL MADRID'S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE COMEBACKS:

Real Madrid is Royal. The Champions League is part of their Kingdo. When they don't win it, they're charitable to share with others. Else, we don't understand how they have 14 titles when elite others beg for just one. And the manner they did it last season seemed like a birth-right, not a competition for all. They won PSG, Champions Chelsea, Man City and finally Liverpool to get the crown. Those are not light opponents, they're heavy-weights with ambitions of their own. Real Madrid shoved them aside to win the crown. Notable was how they scored 2 goals after 90 minutes to come from behind and knock Man City out. It was an unbelievable moment. Guardiola had to say he learned from Real Madrid when City came from behind to defeat Aston Villa and win the Premier League at the expense of Liverpool.

7.  MAN CITY WINNING THE PREMIER LEAGUE:

Yes, we place this one before Real Madrid's Champions League triumph because it's very easy to give up in the end, especially after your back is pinned on the ground. It was a long season journey, not a periodic battle like the Champions League, you would say you gave your best, it's okay to lose it, let Liverpool have something. Again, the Premier League was to be decided on final day between Liverpool and Man City, City was losing 2-0 to Aston Villa. Between 76th and 81st minute of the game, City scored 3 goals to win 3-2. When Liverpool finally scored to beat Wolves in the 84th minute, they learned it didn't matter. It was a big high Guardiola confessed he learned from Real Madrid. This is also high because City was criticized for losing to Real Madrid, comments that suggested they didn't have what it took to do it when it mattered. It was the best response doing what they did. It was a high in 2022.

6.  ARSENAL's RESILIENT:

Reports, especially after Arsenal's win yesterday, Man City's draw: is that Arsenal will finally win the Premier League after many years it eluded them. This is a big high it makes our 2022 big moments countdown. It's daunting. Arsenal is usually written off, played down as a small team with little sting. This season, the joy is back again. They bought the right players, built the ones they had and sold the players that we're not needed. They grind out wins when others falter. We wish they continue the momemtum. They've surprised us already when they didn't lose it after the World Cup. Let's see if it continues.

5.  ERLING HAALAND IMPACT:

We're no sure there's anyone that plays Fantasy Premier League and doesn't know Erling Haaland. As a matter of fact, you don't captain him out of jealousy or because you're looking for competitive advantage. A whooping 7 million players of Fantasy Premier League captained him last time out. He's a bang. He's monstrous. 21 Premier League goals already in 15 games. He is leading the golden boot race in league and European top leagues. Very ironic how he blanked in Community Shield and many thought he will flop in the Premier League.

4.  BENZEMA'S BALLON D'OR:

It's not winning Ballon D'Or that made this our no. 4, it's the person and his story. He was the patient one. The one that wasn't seen. The one that was working in the shadow. Benzema's amazing 2021/22 season was enjoyed by lovers and rivals alike. His prowess in the Champions League shocked the World and endeared him to the World. We all remembered that he has always been a great player. So, when he won the Ballon D'Or, it was a big high. It made our 2022.

3.  THE RONALDO STORY WITH A HAPPY ENDING:

Being Ronaldo isn't easy, we learned last year. Truth, lies, plots, everyone says something about Ronaldo, and it led to what we think was the worst transfer saga of all time that ended with an explosive interview, and Ronaldo leaving United as a free agent. Quickly, we forgot he was United top scorer, player of the year, won most Premier League player of the Month awards, made Premier League Team of the Year player; to know a Legend that lost his glory in the World Cup, especially as his arch-rival Messi won the crown. He's been beaten, battered and almost defeated by opinions and views. In the end, the story is that he signed a new contract that will earn him 200 million euros a year. It's crazy. It's impossible for a sportsman at his age and circumstance... but he is Cristiano Ronaldo. Like him, beat him, smear him, he always wins.

2.   KYLIAN MBAPPE MOMENT:

The World Cup final was the best ever if not exaggerated. France comebacks were amazing thanks to one man - Kylian Mbappe. Messi took the throne in the end, but Mbappe announced himself as the heir. It was an unforgetable final for the then 23 year-old to restore the hopes of his Compatriots and millions of fans, only for the penalties to go against him. Argentina won. However, no one will forget a hat-trick in a World Cup final. Kylian is meant for the big stage.

1.  LIONEL MESSI WINS THE WORLD CUP:

Messi winning the World Cup is the hallmark of the year. For years to come, many will never forget. For the GOAT debate, in the race of the best - Lionel Messi has won it all, conquered football. No wonder his post after winning the World Cup is the most liked post on Instagram (74 million likes now, 67 million within hours of post - the World was waiting for the King).

HONOURABLE MENTION: NEWCASTLE UNITED

Newcastle remind us of the Leicester team that won the premier league. The manner at which they've approached the game last year is amazing. From the big money takeover, to the transfers and the Coach's tactical brilliance. Also, worthy to mention is the Almiron turnaround. After taking a banter from Jack Grealish, he became reborn. Ever since then, he has replaced Saint Maximin as the change maker for the Magpies. We don't know how long it'll last, but we hope Newcastle can at least get a spot in Europe next season.

There are a lot of moments that were mind blowing. Not forgetting the Jamie Carragher and co banter because of Ronaldo, Aubameyang signing for London rivals qand so much more. Did we leave anything out?

Let's here you. Cheers Everyone. Happy 2023!!!
