 Nigerian billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has experienced a significant financial turnaround. In the first week of 2024, he gained over $100 million, pushing his net worth above $15 billion. This comes after a $3.6 billion decrease in 2023.

The surge in his wealth is attributed to the strong performance of his diverse investment portfolio on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX). The local stock market has been performing well, with the all-share index approaching the 80,000 points milestone.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Dangote’s net worth has risen from $15.1 billion at the beginning of 2024 to $15.2 billion currently. The $106 million increase in his net worth this year is directly linked to the performance of his investments on the NGX.
