Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Glenmore Postgraduate Scholarship, applicants must:

Hold an offer of admission for an eligible programme for the 2026–2027 academic year
Have accepted, or intend to accept, the offer of admission (preference is given to applicants with an unconditional offer by the scholarship deadline)
Be domiciled in an eligible country listed on the DAC List of ODA Recipients (2026–2027)
Not have previously studied at Master’s level (priority consideration)
Demonstrate a clear intention to return to and work in countries that will benefit from enhanced healthcare capacity

The University defines domicile as the applicant’s country of ordinary residence.

Selection Criteria

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of:

Academic merit, with candidates expected to have achieved (or be on track to achieve) the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree
Quality of the personal statement, which must clearly demonstrate motivation, purpose, and potential impact

Personal Statement Requirements

Applicants must submit a personal statement of no more than 3,500 characters, addressing:

Why they chose the specific programme at the University of Edinburgh
How the programme will support their career and personal development
How their qualification will contribute to improving healthcare or public health in their community, region, or country
