The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is inviting applications for a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator to support its Learning and Leadership Development (LLD) portfolio and other global programmes. This is a 12-month fixed-term position offering a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a global movement dedicated to empowering girls and young women, while strengthening expertise in MEL systems, frameworks, and data-driven programme improvement.

Location: London (NW3) or remote (from any country where WAGGGS can contract for services)
Working hours: 28–35 hours per week

About the Role

The MEL Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that WAGGGS’ programmes are effective, accountable, and impactful. The role focuses on coordinating and supporting monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities across the Learning and Leadership Development portfolio, as well as contributing to other global programmes where needed.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing MEL frameworks that measure programme outcomes, quality, and long-term impact. The MEL Coordinator will support data collection and analysis processes, ensuring that information gathered is accurate, relevant, and timely. They will provide ongoing technical MEL support to programme teams, working closely with the MEL Manager and wider MEL team to align activities with organisational standards and approaches.

A central aspect of the role is translating data into meaningful insights that inform learning, programme improvement, and strategic decision-making. Through this work, the MEL Coordinator helps strengthen evidence-based practice and accountability across WAGGGS’ global initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and research skills, combined with a clear interest in leadership development, education, and gender equality. Applicants should have experience designing and implementing MEL plans and tools, particularly for behaviour-change or learning-focused programmes.

Candidates should be confident in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data, and able to translate findings into practical recommendations for programme teams. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves working with diverse teams across multiple regions and cultural contexts.
