Senator Ishaku Abbo Announces Exit from ADC, Set to Unveil New Political Party
Dear Supporters and Aspirants,
I am aware that many of you joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) out of loyalty and support for me, as well as your desire to contest elections under the same platform. I sincerely appreciate your commitment and trust.
However, it is important to bring to your attention that the ADC Adamawa State chapter recently conducted its congresses in violation of two existing court orders. This development renders the state executives produced from that process illegal.
Consequently, any primary elections conducted by such a structure cannot stand the test of legality in any court of law in Nigeria.
We have seen similar situations before. In 2023, a State High Court ruling in Plateau State against the PDP was ignored by the party. The aftermath was severe all candidates who won elections into the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate lost their seats to the APC, which had come second. This serves as a clear warning of what could happen if due process is not followed.
The same legal consequences may await anyone who chooses to contest under the current illegal structure of the ADC in Adamawa State.
It is important to note that, under the provisions of the new Electoral Act, there is still an opportunity to make informed decisions, as the deadline to join another political party is May 10, 2026.
Let me also remind you that political victories are not determined solely by time, but by strategy, connection with the people, and determination. A recent example is President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal, who, after spending 11 months in prison, emerged just 13 days before the election and still won the presidency against the ruling party.
For the past three years, I have been actively engaging with the people, building connections, and strengthening our political base. With more than ten months remaining before the general elections, we still have enough time to reposition and move forward strategically.
Therefore, I wish to inform you that we are leaving the ADC. I will unveil our new political party this weekend.
I urge you to remain patient and focused.
Kada ka riga ladan zuwa masallaci.
Please wait for further direction.
Daga teburin,
Senator Ishaku Abbo
Mai Allah da Mai Jama’a
Note: I am not a member of NDC. Kindly await the official announcement this weekend.
