THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE EASTERN AND WESTERN CULTURE

First of all,the Eastern world comprises of countries like Asia and India while the Western is made up of Europe and Australia.There are certain differences between these two based on their cultures and belief.And those differences can be seen clearly through their characters and behaviors.

For example,in the Western culture,relationship are not one sided or biased because everyone is considered important and is respected irrespective of their age or Educational level whereas,in the Eastern culture,people who are older are considered to be more important and should be respected.

However,the main difference between these two cultures scattered around the globe is that,people in the East are more "traditional and old fashioned" than those in the West.Theoretically,the boundary between the East and West is "Cultural" rather than "Geographical".

THE EASTERN CULTURE

The people in this part of the world are more traditional when we look at the way they dress,their rituals and even their speech.For example,the Indians show this by the way they greet as they place their hands together and give a bow ad they utter this word "Namaste".People in the East are very inflexible in their doctrine and creed.

Talking about their homes,elders are respected by the younger ones because they are the head of the house and obey them in "all decisions".Infact,the vital decisions of children are taken by their elders.

When it comes to speech,people in this part of the world prefer they lie and maintain their relationships with one another than say the truth and cause a crack in harmony.

The Easterns believe that whatever brings you a name and glory is "right" when what does the opposite is "wrong".

And to talk about marriage too,the Eastern culture is where arranged marriages are no big deal but just a normal phenomenon.The marriages are usually arranged by parents or elders while the children have no mouth to speak.Even the saying that "love comes after marriage is also promoted in those marriages.

Theh have Islam,Hinduism and Buddhism as their major religions.

THE WESTERN CULTURE

Thus part of the world have Christianity,Buddhism and Islam as some of their most common practiced religions.

One thing about people in the West is that they are more civilized and open minded than those in the East.They are more direct and intentional even in their speech.For example,topics like "Sex" can be discussed freely while it is still a taboo and looks disgusting in the Eastern world.Westerners are "Honest" in their speech.They prefer to tell the truth even if there will be a problem in their state of harmony.

When we talk of expression,Westerners are more open in the way their express their feelings,be it hurt,sadness or anger.They might also display their emotions in public but the Easterners will always cover it up for the sake of their sanity and tradition.

In the Western culture,a person is given much freedom and has the liberty to take decisions for himself in cases like

 education,career and marriage. There are no arranged marriages because the Westerns marry for love.
