THE FUTURE OF NIGERIAN E-COMMERCE IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS.

Years ago, a lot of Nigerian e-commerce guys were only focusing on selling in Nigeria.

Now, a lot of people are now moving to other african countries where there seems to be little competition because it seems as though the Nigerian e-commerce space is getting saturated.

I DON'T BELIEVE THAT

You see, even if you sell 10,000 pieces of a diabetes product, there are 100,000 more that you've not sold to in Nigeria.

Even if you sell 10,000 pieces of a security gadget, there 100,000 more that you've not sold to in Nigeria.

No matter the solution you claim your product solves, the DEMAND will still be more than the SUPPLY. You just have to approach them the right way.

I sincerely believe we've gradually gotten to a level where our approach to selling physical products will start moving from running direct CONVERSION ADS to GENERATING LEADS before selling physical products.

I am not saying running direct conversion ads won't work anymore. It will still work.

But in few years to come, those who will be more profitable in Nigerian e-commerce will be those who will generate leads, sell to those who wants to buy immediately, intention nurture the leads until they start buying.

It's going to happen.

If you are yet to start implementing it, do so. You will need it.

PS: There are reasons to why I believe these changes are going to happen. Maybe I'll explain it in my next post.
