Tiwa Savage: Influencer Omotara Akanni demands N5M from Instablog9ja over defamation and libelous online publication

Twitter influencer, Omotara Akanni Lawrence, has demanded a compensation of N5 million from the popular blogger, Instablog9ja, alleging defamation and libelous online publication.

On Tuesday, May 30th, 2023, Tiwa Savage created a buzz on social media by sharing a loved-up photo of herself with a mystery man on a beach in Brazil. In response, influencer Omotara took to her verified Twitter handle and posted a lengthy message, urging people to refrain from posting their partners on social media, deeming it unnecessary.

In her tweet, she stated, "Flaunting your partner on social media is really not necessary. Why do people need to see who you are dating, married to, or having a discreet relationship with? Letting the public know what they do for you is not the point. The consequences of flaunting your partner are numerous. For instance, people might portray your life as unstable, and this instability could reflect in hindsight when the economy is deteriorating. Naturally, people will determine if their surroundings deserve acknowledgment. Many things are not as they appear because the glorious scenes we witness on Earth are not involved effortlessly. Stay informed because videos are created above the normal order. Take my advice and adhere to it ❤️."

In response to Omotara's post, Instablogja misinterpreted her words to fit their narrative and connected it to Tiwa Savage's post. The blog's headline read, "Media Personality Omotara tells singer Tiwa Savage and others: 'Flaunting your partner on social media is really not necessary.'"

Consequently, Omotara Akanni, who faced numerous harassment following Instablogja's viral post, has taken legal action against the media outlet for malicious and libelous publications. Through her legal team, she demands a retraction of the defamatory and libelous publication and reasonable compensation amounting to N5 million.
