Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru  Fintiri has announced that the state government would commence the distribution of palliatives to mitigate the effects of the hardship people are subjected to as a result of subsidy removal.


The Governor made the announcement on Thursday when he received Mbula Race on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Yola.


Fintiri said the measures become necessary to alleviate the hunger and sufferings caused by the outcome of fuel subsidy removal, urging critical stakeholders to ensure every household benefitted from it.


As part of fulfilling his campaign promises to the people, the Governor also said the government would soon reel out plans and to begin empowering youths and women in order to combat poverty in the state.


Ahmadu Fintiri further announced that the state government would soon embark on tree planting to save and preserve the eco-system from global warming given the current climate change.


While calling on the citizenry to live in peace and harmony, the Governor maintained that there's no alternative to peace saying he remains committed to putting the state on the path of development.


Earlier in his address, the leader of the delegation, Chief Boniface Zebulun said the visit was to felicitate with the Governor on winning his re-election bid.


He acknowledged the Governor's efforts in the areas of infrastructural development, security of lives and properties of Adamawa citizens, improved ease of doing businesses, attraction of foreign investments and raising the bar of enduring culture of cooperate administration in the civil service.


Chief Boniface assured the Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the unwavering support of Mbula, Tambo, Bata, Bakobi and Bwaza people as always.  The group specifically commented the paramount ruler of the Mbula Kingdom HRM Murum Bwaltam Biyapo Bentley for support and maintaining a father figure where he has been able to steer them o  the part of peaceful coexistence. 


Top government officials at the courtesy call included the SSG Auwal Tukur, Chief of Staff Amos Edgar, Head of Service Shehu Ardo, permanent secretaries, PDP stalwarts, amongst others.
