The American University in Cairo (AUC) offers International Graduate Fellowships (IGF) for international students seeking to pursue their graduate studies at the university. These fellowships provide comprehensive coverage, including full tuition, a monthly stipend, housing, health insurance, and transportation.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the IGF, applicants must meet the following criteria

Hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. Meet the English language proficiency requirements, which vary based on the program. Be admitted to a full-time graduate program at AUC. Demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service. Duration

The fellowship is granted for a maximum duration of five semesters and one intervening summer session, with performance reviews conducted every semester for satisfactory academic progress. For the Counseling Psychology graduate program, the duration may be extended to a maximum of seven semesters.

Award Details

The fellowship covers

Tuition fees for a maximum of nine credits per semester. Student services and activities fees. Monthly stipend. Medical service and health insurance. May cover remedial English language requirements. Monthly housing allowance or accommodation in AUC residences at the AUC New Cairo campus.

Fellows' Responsibilities

Fellows are assigned 12 hours per week of related academic work. Students must maintain full-time status. Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2. Completion of mandatory training for Teaching Assistantship, if involved in teaching assistantship duties.
