Job Description

The Communications Intern will support the execution of Plan International Nigeria’s communications and social media strategy. The role involves managing the organization’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn) and supporting publications, press relations, and advocacy campaigns.

The intern will work closely with the Communications Advisor to create engaging content and support various thematic functions within Plan International Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

📌 Support the execution of the organization’s communications strategy.
📌 Manage and create content for social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn).
📌 Develop creative design solutions for publications and campaigns.
📌 Assist in publicity and press relations to enhance advocacy efforts.
📌 Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent messaging.

Requirements & Qualifications

✔ Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications, Multi-media Design, Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field.
✔ Minimum of 1 year experience in communications, design, or media-related roles.
✔ Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Fireworks).
✔ Experience in creative design solutions and working within budgets and timelines.
✔ Experience working with IDPs, refugees, and vulnerable populations is an advantage.
✔ Strong storytelling, content creation, and social media management skills.
