Role Overview
The Infrastructure/ESHS Officer will support the implementation of infrastructure and Environmental, Social, Health, and Safety (ESHS) activities under the STaR project. This includes producing technical designs, facilitating cash-for-work programs, supervising field implementation, and engaging stakeholders to ensure community participation and sustainable impact.
Responsibilities

Coordinate assigned infrastructure and ESHS activities per the implementation plan.

Conduct routine inspections at project sites and ensure compliance with standards.

Support partner efforts in project planning, execution, and evaluation.

Liaise with local stakeholders, including community leaders and government agencies.

Design construction drawings, structural plans, and bills of quantities.

Develop cash-for-work protocols, identify beneficiaries, and oversee training.

Monitor budgets, resource use, and implementation schedules.

Support data collection, reporting, and knowledge sharing.

Assist in project documentation, case studies, and success stories.
Eligibility Requirements
Basic Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building, or Construction Management.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in infrastructure or construction-related projects.

Registration with COREN, NSE, NIA, ARCON, COBON, or other regulatory bodies is an asset.

Experience with design tools like AutoCAD, Revit, EPANET is an added advantage.

Must be proficient in English and Hausa.
Preferred Skills
-
Familiarity with participatory planning, community engagement, and monitoring & evaluation.

Experience with GIS/GPS technologies, MS Office, CommCare, and engineering software.
-
Strong problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration abilities.

Internal: Program Manager, Technical Advisors, Supply Chain, MEAL, Gender Officers.

External: Government MDAs, INGOs/NGOs, Community Leaders, Coordination Groups.
