In Nigeria, New Incentives operates under the All Babies Are Equal (ABAE) Initiative, offering financial support to pregnant women to encourage medical adherence, reduce maternal and infant mortality, and improve public health outcomes—especially around routine immunization and social protection.

 Job Purpose

The National Stakeholder Relations Officer will lead and support strategic engagement with national-level stakeholders, including government MDAs, NGOs, and partner organizations, to ensure alignment of New Incentives' operations with Nigeria’s health and social protection priorities.

This role focuses on:

  • Relationship building

  • Providing technical assistance to government agencies

  • Media representation

  • Ensuring compliance with national laws and policies related to cash transfers and immunization programs

 Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Relations (30%)

  • Maintain ongoing engagement with national MDAs, NGOs, and technical committees

  • Represent the organization at conferences, stakeholder meetings, and national forums

  • Identify champions at the national level to support advocacy efforts

  • Monitor and analyze shifts in stakeholder landscape and policy environment

  • Align organizational goals with national priorities

Content Development and Documentation (20%)

  • Develop reports, response documents, fact sheets, presentations, and stakeholder maps

  • Manage media communications and public relations

  • Track media coverage and develop publications or op-eds that promote the organization’s mission

Technical Assistance to Government MDAs (20%)

  • Provide technical support during collaborations on immunization and social protection

  • Represent New Incentives at working groups, technical committees, and policy discussions

Support to Internal Units (20%)

  • Assist internal stakeholder and supply-side units with coordination at national level

  • Follow up on vaccine supply and logistics issues with government entities

Compliance Monitoring (10%)

  • Maintain and track MOUs and agreements with national MDAs

  • Monitor compliance with national immunization laws, health policies, and guidelines

  • Proactively manage renewals and regulatory obligations

 Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or Social Sciences

  • 3–6 years of experience supporting immunization programs with government MDAs

  • 2–4 years working with NGOs or non-profit organizations in a stakeholder-focused role

  • Current residence in Abuja is required

 Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking abilities

  • Capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines

  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and policy advocacy

  • Critical thinking and a problem-solving mindset

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and collaborative tools (Google Docs, Sheets, AppSheet, etc.)

  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and email responsiveness

 Language Requirements

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)

  • Knowledge of Hausa is a strong advantage
