In a renewed move to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, lawmakers of the 8th Adamawa State House of Assembly under the APC platform have organised a one-day Grassroots Stakeholders’ Engagement and Sensitisation Meeting in Yola, the state capital.

The event, which marks the first of its kind by the APC legislators, brought together party leaders, executives, and supporters from across the state. It served as a forum for dialogue, strategic planning, and renewed commitment to building a more united and formidable APC structure across all levels.

Lawmakers Engage the Grassroots for Party Strengthening

The meeting provided an avenue for the lawmakers to interface directly with grassroots stakeholders, discussing the party’s direction and strategies for success in the upcoming elections.

According to the legislators, the engagement was aimed at consolidating the party’s base, ensuring members remain united, and promoting active participation in governance and political mobilisation.

“This meeting gives us a platform to interact with the people who truly matter—the grassroots. They are the backbone of the APC, and their commitment will determine our success in 2027,” one of the lawmakers stated.

The stakeholders pledged to intensify mobilisation efforts across the 21 local government areas, ensuring that the APC remains the dominant political force in Adamawa State.

Commendation for President Tinubu and NSA Nuhu Ribadu

A cross-section of stakeholders and legislators at the event expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership and for appointing Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, an Adamawa-born technocrat, as National Security Adviser (NSA).

The participants praised Ribadu’s dedication, professionalism, and efforts toward restoring peace and stability in Nigeria.

“Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has made Adamawa State proud. He has shown integrity, courage, and a deep sense of patriotism in discharging his duties. We are proud to have him as one of us,” the lawmakers said in unison.

They also reaffirmed their unwavering support for President Tinubu’s policies and programmes, describing his administration’s reforms as vital steps toward national renewal and economic recovery.

Resolutions and Call for Unity Ahead of 2027

During the meeting, participants collectively resolved to work towards a strong, united, and victorious APC in Adamawa ahead of the next general elections.

They agreed to:

  • Mobilise members across all wards and local governments;

  • Promote party unity and discipline among stakeholders;

  • Support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda;

  • Collaborate with the NSA and federal agencies to improve security and governance in the state.

“Our message is simple — unity is strength. We must put the interest of our party above personal ambition and ensure that APC reclaims power at the state and national levels,” the communique stated.

APC Northeast Vice Chairman Commends Adamawa Legislators

Speaking at the event, the National Vice Chairman of APC (Northeast Zone), Comrade Salihu Mustapha (PhD), commended the Adamawa lawmakers for their initiative in organising the meeting. He described it as a commendable step towards strengthening the APC from the grassroots level.

He encouraged the stakeholders to replicate similar engagements at the local government and ward levels to expand the party’s outreach.

“The APC must remain one family. There is no division, no ‘new movement’ (Sabon Tafiya) in Adamawa. We are stronger together. Let no one deceive you  the APC is here to stay,” he declared.

Comrade Mustapha also appealed for continued support for President Tinubu’s administration, especially in the ongoing fight against insecurity.

“Security is everybody’s business. We must support the President and the NSA to make Nigeria safer and stronger,” he added.
