Adamawa Lawmaker Urges APC Members to Unite Ahead of 2027 General Elections

The Member representing Mubi South Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Yohanna Sahabo Jauro, has called on leaders and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united, focused, and committed to the success of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Jauro made the appeal during a one-day Grassroots Stakeholders’ Engagement and Sensitisation Meeting organized by nine APC lawmakers from the Adamawa State House of Assembly. The event, held in Yola, the state capital, brought together prominent party stakeholders, youth leaders, and supporters to deliberate on strategies for strengthening the APC across the state.

APC Determined to Reclaim Power

Speaking at the event, Hon. Jauro emphasized that the meeting was convened to review the party’s progress, assess challenges, and plan strategically for victory in the 2027 elections.

“This gathering has given us the opportunity to sit together as a family and discuss how we can move our great party forward. The APC has a strong chance of winning future elections, and with unity and dedication, success is certain,” he said.

The lawmaker reiterated that the APC remains a formidable political force in Adamawa and Nigeria as a whole, stressing that internal cooperation and discipline are crucial for maintaining that momentum.

“We must remain focused and avoid distractions. The future of our party depends on our ability to work together for a common goal — victory at the polls,” he added.

Dismisses Defection Rumours

Addressing rumours that some APC chieftains in Adamawa were planning to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Jauro dismissed the claims as false and misleading, describing them as mere political propaganda.

“Those spreading rumours of defection are only trying to sow division. The APC family in Adamawa is intact and stronger than ever. Our members are loyal, and our leaders are united in their vision for a better state and nation,” he stated confidently.

He noted that the strong turnout and participation of party stakeholders at the meeting clearly demonstrated that the APC remains solid, organised, and focused on winning future elections.

Call for Grassroots Mobilisation

Hon. Jauro also urged members to intensify efforts in grassroots mobilisation and voter education to strengthen the party’s base across all local government areas.

“We must take the message of the APC to every ward, every village, and every household. The people need to understand our vision and see our sincerity. Grassroots mobilisation is key to our success,” he said.

He encouraged party supporters to engage the electorate through awareness campaigns, community meetings, and social outreach programmes that highlight the party’s achievements and vision for the future.

“Our duty is not only to win elections but to win the trust and confidence of the people. Let us reach out, listen to their concerns, and provide solutions that reflect the values of our great party,” Hon. Jauro added.

Unity: The Key to Victory

The lawmaker emphasized that unity and mutual respect among members were essential to the APC’s success in 2027. According to him, internal disputes, divisions, and personal ambitions could only weaken the party’s chances if not properly managed.

“We must not allow internal wrangling or selfish interests to distract us. What unites us as a party is stronger than what divides us. Together, we can reclaim our mandate and deliver good governance to our people,” he advised.

Hon. Jauro also reminded the audience that politics is not just about competition but about service, integrity, and the collective pursuit of progress.

“Our people are watching. They want a party that stands for their interests — a party that works for their future. The APC must continue to lead with vision and responsibility,” he added.

Stakeholders Commend Lawmakers’ Initiative

Other speakers at the meeting, including local government party chairmen and youth leaders, commended the lawmakers for taking the initiative to engage directly with grassroots stakeholders. They described the meeting as timely and essential for rebuilding confidence within the party.

They also pledged their commitment to supporting the APC’s growth and ensuring victory at all levels in the upcoming elections.

A youth leader from Mubi South, Comrade Ibrahim Adamu, described Hon. Jauro as “a true grassroots leader” who has remained accessible and committed to the welfare of his constituents and the progress of the party.

“Hon. Jauro’s call for unity is exactly what we need right now. The APC will only grow stronger when we work as one family,” he said.

APC’s Path Forward

As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, Hon. Jauro reaffirmed his belief that the APC will emerge victorious — not through propaganda, but through hard work, unity, and a shared vision for development.

“The APC has done a lot for Nigeria and Adamawa State. We must continue to build on our achievements and correct our past mistakes. The future belongs to a united APC,” he said.

He assured that the nine APC members in the Adamawa State House of Assembly remain resolute in their support for the party and will continue to work in harmony with stakeholders at all levels.

“We will not relent. Our mission is to strengthen the APC, win elections, and deliver meaningful development to our people,” he concluded.
