The Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas, has extended a humanitarian gesture to communities affected by floods and windstorms across his constituency, donating multi-million naira worth of relief materials to ease their suffering.

The donation, which included both food and non-food items as well as cash support, was targeted at victims of the recent flood disaster in Fufore, Song, Gombi, and Hong Local Government Areas (LGAs), and those affected by windstorm incidents in Kwanan Waya, Yola South LGA.

Presenting the relief materials at the various affected communities, Senator Iya Abbas emphasized that his primary concern was to alleviate the hardship faced by families and individuals whose lives and livelihoods had been disrupted by natural disasters.

Speaking through representatives from his 2023 Senatorial Campaign Steering Committee, Alhaji Adamu Baba Mustafa and Dr. Adamu Babikkoi, Senator Abbas reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the welfare and resilience of his constituents.

“This intervention is not just an act of charity but a responsibility I owe to the people who entrusted me with their mandate. The impact of these disasters on farmlands, homes, and businesses is deeply troubling. My priority is to stand with my people in times of need,” he stated.

The current round of donations included:

Over 1,200 bags of rice and maize
Hundreds of mats and blankets
₦10 million cash support distributed among the five affected LGAs

These items were distributed directly to victims under the supervision of local committees to ensure transparency and equitable sharing.
